Avoiding the crowd‘s brimming noise and you just want sheer peace of mind come summer this year? It’s second quarter now so you gotta gear up for the heat. And with heat I mean the hottest but cheapest Instagram ready destinations.
One of the best islands in the country is of course my very own home, the island-province of Guimaras. Here, you can a long table of choices. From beaches, to inland resorts. From historical to religious sites. From high end, luxury resorts to backpacker-loving hubs.
Kakahuyan, kalikasan, kagubatan at beach trip ba ang hanap this summer? Try the peaceful and private island feels of Puntalawi in Jordan town, Guimaras Island.
Here’s how to get there:
🏝From Iloilo City, take a pumpboat/ferry from Ortiz to Jordan Wharf
🏝Take a jeep going to San Miguel or well known as Alibhon
🏝Rent a tricycle going to Baybay Lawi
🏝 Two Options: A. Rent a small boat going to Punta Law. B. Go for a 20-min hike. Just ask for some kids at Baybay Wharf or spec look for JM or Omar (they are my good friends)
🍂No fixed entrance fee. Magkusang loob kang mag donate hayop ka. Walang libre ngayon. Haha!
🍂You can bring your tent or other summer-ready gears. The beach is clad with nothing but blues and greens. Walang cottage kaya nga walang tao diba.
🍂Capture moments but do not leave your trash. Walang bellboy or housekeeping. Hindi Boracay ang Guimaras. Hindi janitor si Manong, caretaker po siya. Please don’t judge.
🍂Bring food, water and more food. Pero wag patay gutom.
🍂Wag puro selfie, tulong-tulong sa pagdala ng gamit.
🍂There’s a community well, you can wash up with the locals. They would even do the water pumping for you. Magpasalamat ka, in case ha? Wag ingrato.
